IdN Magazine: The Big Issue
IdN is pleased to announce the first issue of IdN magazine in 2005 will be released soon. We are broadening our outlook to encompass a much wider interpretation of the word "design". Seven new columns were introduced in this issue, they are Vinylnation, Music, Mix-Photo, The Studio, Poster, Showroom and Frame.

New Columns:
Vinylnation: Toys are them - 9 designers reveal their latest figurative works.
Music: Interviewing 3 emperors of electronic music, showing how music rocks the design world.
Mix-Photo: Photography is undergoing a new revolution. And this time it is not technical, but visual.
The Studio: The place where this frenzied invention usually happens
Poster: Parra Power - Amsterdam-based graphic artist/illustrator/ typographer/ designer
Showroom: 25 young Japanese artists through different media marching on Sydney
Frame: Stanley Wong using photography to express his love towards Hong Kong
Features: A rough guide through creative mind

There is nothing so fascinating as the design process. In this issue of IdN, we have invited five designers - Wilson Tang from I.L.M., Bless, Jamie Hayon, Paul Smith, Yuko Shimizu and Baku Madea - to show us their sketches and blueprints from various projects in the different design fields of illustration, fine art, visual effects, fashion and product design.

Together with in-depth interviews, these articles cast an interesting light on the diversity of the creative process. Some of the most complicated finished products have been the result of surprisingly simply rough or presentation sketches, and vice versa - apparently simple designs arrived at through laboriously complicated trial runs.

More Must Read content
Spot: Re-defining Boundaries
In this feature, we explore the work of three designers from the UK who are challenging and re-defining boundaries in graphic
design. Their work is astute and intelligent and has a strong sense of personality and sensitivity.
ISO's distinctive narrative-based approach to title design and broadcast graphics
Anthony Burril's wry and sharp-witted visual narratives
Michael C. Place's fastidious layered visual metaphors
Motion Gallery: Quelling creative demons
Swiss born matte Painter Deak Ferrand talked about his struggles for perfection and his determination never to fall below the incredibly high standards he has set for himself in a string of box-office blockbusters. He's famous for his afterworlds, his work can be seen in "Hellboy", "Matrix Revolution", "The Two Tower" and this year's "Constantine".
