Sam Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III combined forces in 2002 and have been slowly spreading their art around the globe ever since. Originally the FriendsWithYou characters ventured into the world as hand-sewn plush dolls that provide magic and mayhem for their owners; now they have expanded to modular wooden toys, public art installations, motion pictures and more. This artist group was created with one basic concept in mind and that is to become Friends With You.

Friends With You present The Malfis, The Burger Bunch and The Boy

Miami-based design team release a new set of originally designed plush dolls for both the Designer Toy and boutique children’s market.

Miami, Fl – Following the growing success of their Cloud City installation at ArtBasel Miami last month, the internationally acclaimed design team Friends With You present a new series of magical plush dolls designed for creative children of all ages: The Malfis, The Burger Bunch and The Boy. The plush dolls begin shipping to retailer’s mid-January 2006.

Already a recognized force in the growing Designer Toy niche, the new series of plush has been created to appeal to both this core market of boutique art & design-based stores as well as a younger children’s audience. Meet the new Friends With You toys:

The Malfis — powerful wizard spirits, full of magic, mischief, and occasional mayhem.
Malfi is a powerful wizard, who can bring great wealth or double trouble. Good luck and be careful!
Smiling Malfi is the master of all tricks. Play with him and you will have fun forever.
Super Malfi is full of surprises. His spots are magic and may be rubbed for good luck.

The Burger Bunch — these segmented and fully modular plush dolls are for the friendly glutton in all of us.
Bumble Grump is an imaginative diapered baby, who gets himself into the wildest of adventures – from taking a bath to eating his broccoli.
Mr. TTT Burger is made of the finest ingredients and was magically awakened by Bumble Grump’s love. He now makes every day filled with delights.
Muffin is an enchanting shape shifting color worm. He can turn himself into anything he wants, well at least sometimes.

The Boy — is not a toy! A character premiered at Cloud City, an elaborate playground installation created at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami for Art Basel December 2005.
