Meet Nick Sambrato. He runs a print shop in Orlando, Florida called Mama's Sauce.
Nick isn't a very smart guy. At a time in history when the print industry is pouncing from one space-age technological advancement to the next, Nick has decided to take a giant leap backwards into the industrial revolution.
Meet the Kluge letterpress. An 2,000 pound, cast iron, electric powered monstrosity of vacillating rods, giant spinning wheels and pneumatic hoses. The Kluge is Nick's weapon of choice in his battle against the future.
So why does Nick use the Kluge? A clearly outdated, cumbersome and obsolete machine? The same reason any craftsman uses any tool: for the quality of the finished product. A letterpress offers a tangible, three-dimensional look and feel to the printed image that no other technology can replicate.
Let Nick take you on a trip back in time as he runs through the process of turning an ordinary piece of paper stock into work of art.

Mit Girls And Corpses bringt raptor publishing eines der ungewöhnlichsten und aufsehenerregendsten amerikanischen Magazin-Konzepte nach Deutschland! Im Heft geht es – wie der Titel bereits sagt – um heiße Girls und deren aufregende Photo-Shoots mit … Leichen! Allerdings dürfen Kirchenvertreter, Staatsanwälte und Menschenrechtler aufatmen, denn natürlich waren hier keine echten Leichen im Spiel, sondern lediglich Nachbildungen eines Maskenbildners aus Hollywood.
Dennoch dürfte klar sein, dass Girls And Corpses kein Magazin für den sonntäglichen Kirchengänger ist, sondern vielmehr eine Zeitschrift für die Freunde der Satire, des Makaberen und des Surrealen. Neben den aufwändigen Photo-Shoots (schon mal eine Leiche und zwei heiße Bikini-Babes auf einem Trampolin gesehen?) bietet das Magazin allerlei Reportagen und satirische Berichte, die keinerlei Tabus kennen.
In den USA wurde Girls And Corpses für sein originelles Konzept bereits mit mehreren Auszeichnungen bedacht und selbst Al Feldstein, der Begründer des MAD-Magazins und Ozzy Osbourne, der Prince of Darkness, haben dem Heft bereits ihren Segen gegeben.
Für die deutsche Ausgabe hat es sich der bekannte Kriminal-Biologe Mark Benecke nicht nehmen lassen, das Vorwort zu verfassen.
Girls And Corpses ist ohne Zweifel das schrägste, ungewöhnlichste und provokanteste Magazin, das die deutsche Zeitschriftenlandschaft je gesehen hat! Halleluja!
