Once known from Aki Kaurismäki's movies as "the ultimate cult band", the band's worldwide respected for their unique live shows. During the 20+ years they have performed more than 1000 shows in more than 60 countries. They have produced massive joint concerts with the Red Army Choir, confused audiences at the MTV Music Awards, performed with classical orchestras and played in hundreds of festivals and clubs. The group has signed an exclusive recording deal with SPV/SPV Recordings, for the World excluding Finland.

Their new studio album "BUENA VODKA SOCIAL CLUB" will be released in October 2011 on Lim. Ed. CD, Super Jewel Case and 180g Vinyl LP.

The new album shows a band at the height of their powers and is their first studio album with original songs since 2000. "Buena Vodka Social Club" is not an ordinary album in any way. It has influences and flavors from many different genres, all mixed into a soup that only this band knows how to cook.

Live dates are currently being set up to promote the album in European territories late 2011 and early 2012 more shows, covering various territories, are about to follow.

Frank Uhle (SPV General Manager) comments: "It's a pleasure and honour to have these true rock'n'roll legends teaming up with SPV. I'm fully convinced, together we will bring the guys back on the map again and up to the high rating in the Rock Circus, they deserve."

Sakke Järvenpää (Leningrad Cowboys mastermind) adds: "We're extremely happy that we have come together with SPV, they have people who still care about the music and the artists. Die ultimative Kultband ist wieder da! Die legendären LENINGRAD COWBOYS haben einen umfassenden exklusiven Vertrag mit SPV unterzeichnet.

Das vorliegende neue Album „Buena Vodka Social Club“ wird bereits im Oktober erscheinen, zeigt die Band auf dem Höhepunkt ihrer künstlerischen Schaffenskraft und ist das erste Werk mit eigenem neuen Studiomaterial seit dem Jahr 2000. Bereits im November wird die Band dann auch in Deutschland touren.



Nicht zuletzt aus den legendären Aki Kaurismäki Filmen sind die Leningrad Cowboys eine der weltweit bekanntesten und anerkanntesten Bands, insbesondere durch ihre fulminanten Live-Shows. Über mehr als 20 Jahre haben sie weit mehr als 1000 Shows in 60 Ländern gespielt und dabei weltweit Freunde und Fans gewonnen und begeistert. In dieser Zeit gab es beeindruckende Kooperationen mit z.B. dem russischen Rote Armee Chor – einen sensationellen Auftritt bei den MTV Music Awards - sie sind mit klassischen Orchestern aufgetreten und haben hunderte von Club- und Festivalauftritten absolviert.

Will you just use the rest of the money for beer?

We are certainly having a beer tonight celebrating that we reached our goal, that’s for sure. But no, we will not just spend the rest of the funds we raise above the goal for beers. If there’s one thing we have learned from this project is that you can always use more funds when making movies. What we raise above the target will enable us to rent better equipment to do more spectacular images. Just sound gear alone costs a fortune. Right now we only have one microphone. With more funds we can rent another microphone, and film two people talking at the same time. Not to mention camera mounts for cars and motorcycles. Hell if we had the money we would do helicopter shots. Our goal was always the bare minimum it takes to create the quality we want. There’s always room for improvement.

Thank you again so much for supporting us through our funding campaign. We are so stoked that we made it, and now have the ability to get some killer footage with some awesome artists.

Dirk and Jesper will spend a year going from California through Europe and end in Japan in search of the coolest Kustom Kulture people and events on the planet. Picking the brains of living legends, up and coming artists and builders within the culture.

The guys seek out some of the hottest Kustom Kulture spots and get some of the worlds best car and motorcycle builders, tattoo artists, pinstripers, custom painters and pin-up models to share their tricks and experience.

Who are these two morons?

Dirk Behlau, aka „The Pixeleye“, born in 1971, is an internationally acclaimed designer and photographer from Cologne/Germany. Since 1999, he has created individual high-class solutions for international customers in his design-studio „Pixeleye Interactive“. http://www.pixeleye.de

Dirk Behlau has previously directed the DVD “Drag Racing – Turtman Switzerland 2007”, as well as shot several trailers and teasers for the legendary finnish rockband Leningrad Cowboys and other bands.

Jesper Bram, born 1973 is a renowned Danish pinstriper and artist. He has a strong background in advertising and holds multiple awards and nominations in graphic design. As an entrepreneur, Jesper has been involved in several large scale international projects since the mid nineties.

Jesper has been into custom cars and motorcycles since childhood and has been drawing just as long. In 2009 he founded his automotive pinstriping and design studio J.Bram Kustom Graphics. http://www.pinstriping.dk
