German TV feature: Kultautos und ihre Schrauber Film von Monja Eigenschenk
Walldorfer Weekender - hier trifft sich die Rock'n Roll-Szene. Sehen und gesehen werden ist hier groß angesagt. Die wahren Stars stehen dabei allerdings vor der Tür: alte Mustangs, Chevrolets und Hot Rods.



Szene-Fotograf Dirk Behlau weiß, warum Hot Rods und Rock'n Roll zusammen gehören. Er hat sich auf die vierrädrigen Stars des Rock'n Rolls spezialisiert und setzt sie stilgerecht mit Pin Up-Girls in Szene.

Und die Hot-Rod-Besitzer lieben ihre Autos über alles - z. B. Hot-Rod Klaus. Im Hafen von Celle kommt ein Pick Up aus den USA an, Baujahr 1928. Den hat sich Klaus bei ebay gekauft und ist gespannt, wie der Wagen nun tatsächlich aussieht. Klaus liebt alte Autos und setzt alles daran, sie TÜV-fähig zu machen, damit sie Oldtimer-Kennzeichen bekommen. Dazu gehört, nur Teile einzubauen, die älter als 30 Jahre sind. Auch seine Werkstatt sieht aus wie aus den 50ern. Hier steht auch Andys dritter Hot Rod. An ihm muss noch einiges gemacht werden. Klaus und seine Crew planen und bauen komplett neu - alles in Handarbeit, wie früher eben. Ein Film von Monja Eigenschenk (Länge: 15 min, 2010)

Das Programm der dritten Creative Paper Conference wird äußerst gut angenommen – der Kartenverkauf läuft auf Hochtouren. Am 14. Und 15. Oktober erwartet die Teilnehmer eine umfangreiche Ausstellung, in der alle großen Namen der Papier- und Veredelungsbranche vertreten sind – aber auch kleine Kreativschmieden zeigen, was mit und auf Papier möglich ist.

Happy-go-lucky, hard skating and hard partying, the Emerican whirlwind known as Braydon Szafranski offers up a steady stream of big and solid, yet technical skateboarding - all delivered with the personality of a 10 year-old with Attention Deficit Disorder. Like Herman, Leo and Matt Allen, Braydon hails from the high desert of the Southwestern United States, but far deeper into the bleak landscape than Fontucky or Victorville. We're talking about that world famous oasis of over-the-top glitz and glamour, Las Vegas.



Born October 3, 1983, Braydon began skating in 1994 on quarterpipes and mini-ramps at his house, thanks to the usual OBS (Older Brother Syndrome). After watching Kenny Anderson skate street, Braydon became hooked for life, sessioning the urban landscape like wildfire with friends Matt Ball, Rag Doll, Sammy Baca, Erik Hamamoto, Jeremy Moore - oh, and Kenny, too. It's safe to say that Braydon busted out strong in Sin City early on, then suffered an unfortunate knee injury, which set him back during the two-year filming of Emerica's widely respected This is Skateboarding video.



Don't think he's all finished, though, because Braydon got healthy again, filmed an innovative part in the Baker 3 video and subsequently turned pro in early 2006. Besides skating, Braydon currently enjoys hanging out with his friends, watching skate videos and reading skate magazines. Do you sense a (skate) pattern here? Sparking up regular sessions with good friends like Erik Hamamoto, Spanky, Erik Ellington and Mike Maldonado, Braydon's future goals include pulling a 540 on vert, stomping a 20-stair and to just "skate and have a great life."

HINTERGRUND.
Auf der Hochschule (für Medien) in Darmstadt lernen sich Christopher Heck und Sebastian Linda kennen. Auf den ersten Blick passen die beiden nicht zusammen, doch sie teilen dieselbe Leidenschaft: das Skateboarden. Als Master und Bachelor anstehen, entschließen sie sich, als Abschlussarbeit gemeinsam ein Roadmovie zu drehen. Nachdem ein erster Schnitt des Filmes fertig war, stellten die Filmemacher einen Trailer ins Internet. So fand das Werk einige Zeit später seinen Weg zu den Produzenten des Films, sodass es nun endlich, ein Jahr nach Abschluss der Dreharbeiten im Rahmen einer exklusiven Kinotour präsentiert werden kann.

Skaterfilme gibt es viele. BORN TO SKATE orientiert sich zwar an der
Ästhetik dieses Genre, bietet aber darüber hinaus eine berührende Story und eine Botschaft, die jeder versteht: Die Sehnsucht nach Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit. So spricht er nicht nur die eingeschworene Skatergemeinschaft an, sondern vermittelt eine Botschaft, in der sich weit mehr Menschen wiederfinden.

Ohne richtiges Drehbuch entstand schließlich ein berührender Selbsterfahrungstrip zweier profilneurotischer junger Männer, die sich in einer leistungsorientierten Gesellschaft ihren ganz eigenen Platz schaffen.
