Tätowierte Bräute, umgebaute US-Oldtimer, Beschleunigungsrennen - die kleine, aber kunterbunte Hot-Rod-Szene fasziniert den Fotografen Dirk "Pixeleye" Behlau seit Jahren. SPIEGEL ONLINE sprach mit dem Künstler, der als Chronist der Bewegung gilt.

lose/lose: Videogame with real life consequences

Lose/Lose is a video-game with real life consequences. Each alien in the game is created based on a random file on the players computer. If the player kills the alien, the file it is based on is deleted. If the players ship is destroyed, the application itself is deleted.
Although touching aliens will cause the player to lose the game, and killing aliens awards points, the aliens will never actually fire at the player. This calls into question the player's mission, which is never explicitly stated, only hinted at through classic game mechanics. Is the player supposed to be an aggressor? Or merely an observer, traversing through a dangerous land?
Why do we assume that because we are given a weapon an awarded for using it, that doing so is right?
By way of exploring what it means to kill in a video-game, Lose/Lose broaches bigger questions. As technology grows, our understanding of it diminishes, yet, at the same time, it becomes increasingly important in our lives. At what point does our virtual data become as important to us as physical possessions? If we have reached that point already, what real objects do we value less than our data? What implications does trusting something so important to something we understand so poorly have?

Und da soll uns nochmal einer nachsagen, wir würden in der Vergangenheit festhängen! Schon vor dem Fest der Feste und lange vor dem Anbruch des neuen Jahresliefern wir Euch unsere neueste Ausgabe: DYNAMITE! 01/2010 (#62), die ab dem 27.11.2009 im Handel erhältlich ist.
Natürlich haben wir wieder einmal keine Kosten und Mühen gescheut und präsentieren mit Stolz den Artikel über die Hollywood-Diven der 1940er bis ‘60er Jahre. Außerdem gibt es für alle, die es nicht nach Speyer geschafft haben den ausführlichen Bericht zu unserem zweiten I Sold My Soul For Rock‘n‘Roll-Festival, Andy‘s 1956 Buick, einen Artikel über das tolle Label Redcat 7 und natürlich wieder vieles mehr. Zwischen jeder Menge Musik verstecken sich in dieser Ausgabe zum ersten Mal zwei neue Kolumnen, die vor allem das weibliche Geschlecht entzücken werden: Sweetness und Micky vom Fräulein Wunder Magazin verraten Beauty-Geheimnisse und schauen auch mal leicht ironisch auf die Szene.
Ansonsten gibt es wie immer eine Compilation die extra für Euch zusammengestellt wurde und die Hot News, Gossip und Termine. Vielleicht sucht Ihr ja auch noch ein kleines Präsent oder Schmankerl zu Weihnachten: das hier sind mit Sicherheit gut investierte 6,50 Euro!

King is a Norwegian musician best known as the bassist and composer of the black metal band Gorgoroth from 1999 to 2009. Gorgoroth's most recent effort, "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam", was nominated for the Norwegian Grammy Award in 2007.
King and Gaahl continue to work together under the new name of God Seed. They will in the future present the music and imagery they have made and are known for in Gorgoroth, but under this banner.
King also plays bass in Sahg, a "gloom and doom flavored" metal band also hailing from Bergen, Norway. Their 2006 release "Sahg I" was quickly followed by several festival appearances and a supporting position on Celtic Frost's 2006 North American Tour along with 1349. Sahg released their sophomore album "Sahg II" in March of 2008.
Joining ranks with Immortal frontman Abbath, drummer Armagedda and Enslaved guitarist Ice Dale in 2006, this Norwegian super-group known as "I" released "Between Two Worlds" to critical and fan acclaim alike on Nuclear Blast Records.
In 2006, King joined former Gorgoroth band-mate Kvitrafn for the "noisy black metal" side project Jotunspor, which released "Gleipnirs Smeder" on Satanas Rex records.
King was previously the composer and bassist for Audrey Horne, whose album "No Hay Banda" was released in 2005 and won the Norwegian Grammy January 2006 for "Best Metal Act".
Moving forward in 2009, a new album and festival dates are in development for God Seed, as well as a new album and live dates with Sahg. King is also working on a new band with Rob Caggiano from Anthrax.

Im Jahre 1964 erschien eine Fernsehserie mit Schauspielern, die Charaktere aus Addams’ Cartoons spielten, mit dem Titel „The Addams Family“. Die 30-minütigen Episoden wurden schwarz-weiß in zwei Staffeln (34 Episoden 1964/ 65 und 30 Episoden 1965/ 66) mit insgesamt 64 Folgen auf ABC ausgestrahlt.
