Most of us started out, as kids, with a love of drawing – remember that feeling of excitement when the teacher or your mum placed a piece of pristine paper in front of you and a box of coloured crayons? Despite the incredible advances in digital technology, enabling even those who are incapable of drawing a straight line or a recognisable human figure to be “artists”, this is a sensation that has stayed with some who have gone on to become professional designers, but
still love to draw by hand, even if they continue to use the computer for some aspects of their work. We talk to 10 of them about the attraction of being hands-on.

"Nach unserer einjährigen fieberhaften Suche nach dem Pin-up des Jahres, kam es im Februar 2009 zur finalen Entscheidung. Das schwere Los, aus unseren 12 Monatsendsiegerinnen unser Pin-up des Jahres auszuwählen traf unsere diesjährige Jury, die aus sorgfältig ausgewählten Mitgliedern der Bereiche Musik & Rock'n'Roll Lifestyle bestand...
"...dem „Pixeleye“ bei der Arbeit zuzusehen ist nicht nur super interessant, sondern auch recht amüsant. Das jeweilige Foto scheint Dirk als Profi schon fix und fertig vor seinem geistigen Auge zu haben. Um dieses in die Realität umzusetzen zeigt Dirk zum Teil wahren Körpereinsatz. Kein staubiger Untergrund hält ihn davon ab, auch mal aus der Froschperspektive abzulichten oder aber er erklimmt mutig jede noch so wackelige Leiter um dem Motiv mit seiner Kamera - einer Canon 5d- aus der Vogelperspektive einen ganz eigenen Flair zu geben..."
