Merging those elements of film and music festivals, Optronica delivers the best of both worlds. XLR8R
Brain-child of audiovisual artists and producers Addictive TV and new-media curators Cinefeel, Optronica is a London based festival exploring the fusion of music and visuals. Optronica features live audiovisual performances, screenings and related special presentations from a whole host of audiovisual artists, film-makers and music acts, all exploring different aspects of audio/visual fusion and showing how today the long tradition of visual-music has expanded to include a wide range of styles and practices.
Following the huge success of the festival's second edition in March 2007 organised in collaboration with the British Film Institute in London, C/O Pop invited Optronica to present a selection of audiovisual delights in Köln this summer. There will be live performances by leading UK audiovisual artists Addictive TV and Semiconductor. Globe-trotting audio/video remix experts Addictive TV will play a special film remix set and film-makers and AV experimentalist duo Semiconductor will present their Sonic Inc and Brilliant Noise projects. Other participating artists include EZ3kiel from France with their brand new DVD-Rom project Naphtaline; plus there's recorded work from top German AV and VJ artists Bauhouse, Giraffentoast and Transforma, and a 'Best of Optronica' cinema screening featuring C-TRL Labs, Dextro, Studio Brutus, Gabriel Shalom, Teppei Kuroyanagi and many more.
PLUS:
More work exhibited at the AV Gallery of RheinTriadem, the festival headquaters, including a short Optronica report and a sneak previews of forthcoming AV albums by British AV acts Exceeda, The Mellowtrons and The Noodles Foundation.

Zu 99% ist die Sprecherliste komplett. Neben den »alten Bekannten« wie Carlo Blatz, Nico Zimmermann oder Thomas Wagner präsentieren sich erstmal viele neue Referenten auf der FFK07. Fabian Roser von Jung von Matt wird anhand von vielen beispielen einen Einblick in seine Arbeit als Art Director für neue Medien geben. Außerdem wird mit Christian Heilmann von Yahoo! ein Experte im Bereich Ajax und Webstandards sein Wissen mit der Flash-Szene teilen und gibt Tipps
zum sinnvollen Einsatz von Flash. Rainer Michael vom WM-Team erläutert wie man Flash richtig einsetzt, um professionelle Animationen zu realisieren. Mit Aral Balkan haben wir DEN Spezialisten in Sachen OpenSource Flash eingeladen und freuen uns, dass er uns neben vielen spannenden Dingen sein natives Datenformat SWX vorstellen und erläutern wird. Was uns ebenfalls freut ist, dass
dieses Jahr der Weltenbummler Mario Klingemann auch bei uns wieder im Boot ist und seinen Vortrag »The blind Sketchmaker«, den er derzeit rund um die Welt zeigt, erstmalig und bisher einmalig in deutscher

Riesen Nachfrage zu den Workshops
Der Workshop zu ActionScript 3 von Saban Ünlü und der Workshop zu Flex von Sven Claar waren innerhalb von wenigen Tagen ausgebucht. Auch der Workshop »Rent an Idea« mit Joa Ebert, André Michelle und Mario Klingemann ist bereits zu 90% ausgebucht. Daher haben wir uns ins Zeug gelegt und einen vierten Workshop zu ActionScript 3 organisiert bekommen. Wir sind froh, dass wir für diesen ganztägigen Workshop den Flash und Flex Profi Nico Zimmermann gewinnen konnten.
Aber Achtung: Auch hier sind Plätze nach wenigen Stunden bereits rar.

Car Kulture Deluxe #23 - Hot Rod Fotostrecke

Im amerikanischen Hot Rod/Kustom Kulture Magazin "Car Kulture Deluxe", Ausgabe 23/August 2007, findet sich eine fünfseitige Fotostrecke über das Bottrop Kustom Kulture 2006 mit (größtenteils) Fotos von mir - und somit meine erste größere Hot Rod Fotostrecke in einem amerikanischen Hot Rod Magazin ;)
